Binance Pledges $3 Million To Support Users Affected By Venezuela Earthquakes

Two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela at sunset on Wednesday, leaving at least 920 people dead and more than 3,000 injured, according to the latest data provided by local authorities. The world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, has stepped in with a financial relief package for its users in the affected regions.

The Aid Package, The Regions Covered, And How To Claim It

Binance announced on Friday through an official blog post that its charitable arm, Binance Charity, will donate $3 million to support Venezuelan users living in the areas hardest hit by the disaster.Β

The aid will come in the form of 20 USDT vouchers β€” think of it as $20 in digital dollars β€” deposited directly into eligible users’ accounts and redeemable through the exchange’s Rewards Hub.

The regions covered by the relief effort are La Guaira, Distrito Capital, Miranda, Aragua, Carabobo, FalcΓ³n, and Yaracuy. Users in those areas who had already completed Proof of Address verification and identity checks on the platform before June 26, 2026, will each receive 20 USDT in token vouchers.

Binance acknowledged that the timing of the disaster means many users in those regions may not yet have completed the required verification steps. To account for that, the exchange is extending eligibility to existing users who complete their Proof of Address between June 26 and July 10, 2026.Β

Those users will also receive 20 USDT, subject to the total donation allocation remaining available. The funds will arrive within a maximum of 30 days from the date each user completes their verification.

Binance Is Also Making It Cheaper To Move Money In VenezuelaΒ

Beyond the direct cash relief, the exchange is also waiving all peer-to-peer (P2P) transaction fees and Binance Pay merchant fees across Venezuela for seven days, with the waiver running until July 2, 2026.Β

The peer-to-peer fee waiver applies specifically to transactions conducted in the Venezuelan Bolivar, the country’s national currency β€” a measure aimed at reducing the cost of moving money for users.Β

Venezuela has one of the most active crypto user bases in Latin America, driven in large part by years of currency instability and hyperinflation that pushed many residents toward stablecoins pegged to the US Dollar as a practical alternative to the Bolivar.Β

The exchange’s user base in the country has significantly expanded, making the scope of this relief effort β€” both in terms of direct vouchers and fee waivers β€” a meaningful intervention for a community already navigating significant economic hardship.Β
