Bitcoin Pushes Toward $67,000 β€” Here Is What Analysts Say Happens Next at This Level

Bitcoin (BTC) broke through the $65,000 resistance level Tuesday and pushed toward $67,000 for the first time since mid-June, driven by a combination of CLARITY Act momentum and a direct signal from the US Treasury that the bill is closer to the finish line than it has been all summer.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told lawmakers the legislation was at the “one-yard line” and urged Congress to pass it before leaving for the August recess β€” comments that Bloomberg reported sent Bitcoin surging.Β

Bitcoin’s Range Is BreakingΒ

The remarks arrived alongside separate reporting that the White House has agreed on an ethics package for the bill, removing what had been the single most contested provision in months of negotiations. Together, the two developments gave the market its clearest signal yet that passage before August 7 is a realistic outcome.

Bitcoin has gained 14% this month after dropping to a two-year low at around $57,750 at the beginning of the month. US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have also recorded $727 million in consecutive inflows since the July 13 session β€” a meaningful reversal that Bitfinex analysts had flagged as the key test for whether last week’s CPI-driven rally had any staying power.Β

FRNT Financial’s Stephane Ouellette offered a structural explanation for why Bitcoin was range-bound for most of June and early July β€” and why that may be changing.Β

He pointed out that investor attention had shifted toward artificial intelligence (AI) and high-profile equity offerings, such as SpaceX’s public debut. As these competing narratives fade, the stage is set for a Bitcoin move.Β

Ouellette further argued that with Bitcoin sitting at the upper boundary of its recent trading range, the most likely direction from here is higher.Β As the AI trade loses momentum and markets grow more comfortable with where interest rates are heading, the conditions for a genuine Bitcoin breakout are improving, he said.

Analysts at crypto firm Tagus added that recent institutional interest “stands in contrast to the severe selling pressure and record redemptions experienced earlier in the summer.

CLARITY Act Is the Biggest Crypto CatalystΒ

Simon Dedic, founder of Moonrock Capital, went further, arguing the CLARITY Act represents the single most significant catalyst crypto has ever had β€” larger even than the GENIUS Act that was signed into law last July and coincided with total crypto market cap crossing $4 trillion for the first time.Β

His reasoning centers on what the bill actually does structurally. The CLARITY Act would end the decade-long jurisdictional dispute between the SEC and the CFTC by permanently codifying which digital assets are commodities under federal law. It replaces what Dedic called a decade of “regulation by enforcement” with actual written rules.

The practical consequence of that, in his view, is that institutional capital that has been sitting on the sidelines for compliance reasons finally gets a path in.Β

Pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, and the largest asset managers operate under frameworks that require clear asset classifications before allocation can occur. Eliminating this barrier would allow these institutions to treat crypto with the same compliance infrastructure they already use for equities and bonds.Β

“For reference, when the GENIUS Act was signed last July, total crypto market cap crossed $4 trillion for the first time,” Dedic wrote. “CLARITY is bigger. Much bigger.”
